The Fireside Lounge

Join us for the launch of In Conversation With, a new series at The Sea Ranch Lodge, as we welcome acclaimed New York City-based author and Guggenheim Fellow Paul Lisicky for an exclusive, one-night-only event.

Lisicky—professor in the MFA program at Rutgers University and one of contemporary literature’s most compelling voices—will be in conversation with Mark Sanford Gross, host of Write Now and founder of Write Up the Coast. Together, they’ll explore Lisicky’s celebrated career and his new, NYT-reviewed book, Song So Wild and Blue—an intimate reflection on the artistry and influence of Joni Mitchell.

Known for his deeply personal storytelling and lyrical prose, Lisicky’s work, including Later, The Narrow Door, and Unbuilt Projects, has appeared in The Atlantic, The New York Times, and other major literary journals.

After the conversation, books will be available for signing—making this a rare chance to connect with a celebrated author in the relaxed, welcoming spirit of The Sea Ranch.

Imagine the evening: thoughtful conversation, the Pacific in the distance, and a gathering of writers, readers, and coastal wanderers ready to share ideas where the redwoods meet the sea.
