The Sea Ranch Kids Club at The Links 2024 Summer Sessions

The Sea Ranch Lodge is excited to announce our 3rd annual Kids Club Summer Session! This summer, we’re inviting kids ages 3-12 to have fun and explore the North Coast. The Kids Club at The Links is offering 6 engaging and educational one-week sessions.

 

Week 1: Art

Week 1: Art

06.24–06.28

Art Week will provide an opportunity for individuals to engage in creative exploration through various mediums, including nature, expression, and interaction with esteemed artists from our community. The activities offered during this event include: a beading workshop led by Ann Sanchez, a respected member of the Ft. Bidwell Northern Paiute tribe; an exploration of wood block art with Lucienne Bloch’s granddaughter, Lucienne Allen; a poetry session facilitated by renowned poet laureate Blake More; and a color mixing workshop conducted by Steve Oliff, a highly regarded comic book colorist. Additionally, a multitude of other activities will be offered!

Week 2: Architecture

Week 2: Architecture

07.08–07.12

During Architecture Week, we will have the opportunity to engage with, explore, and contemplate the unique designs found in nature and our surrounding community. We will also leverage our creative thought processes to collaboratively solve architecture-related activities. These activities include investigating Sea Ranch architecture, exploring the Point Arena Lighthouse, visiting the famous Mendocino Stone Zone, creating fairy houses and tree houses, participating in various architecture group challenges, navigating through giant box mazes, and much more.

Play Week is all about having fun, being active, and building lifelong friendships through game play and collaboration! Whether it be swimming at the river, golf, tag, relay races at Bower Park, water fights, or playing at the beach, kids are bound to have a blast burning off all of that energy.

Week 4: Ocean

Week 4: Ocean

07.22–07.26

Sea Ranch is an ideal location for Ocean Week! Children will have the opportunity to explore, collect, create, and gain a deeper appreciation for the local watershed and its surroundings. Some of the planned activities include tide pooling, bird watching, learning about marine vertebrates and invertebrates, as well as a fun field trip to Arena Cove, Moat Creek, Schooners Beach, and Cooks Beach for observing coastal topography. There will be many more exciting activities to participate in throughout the week!

Week 5: Nature’s Theater

Week 5: Nature’s Theater

07.29–08.02

Nature's Theater offers a wonderful opportunity for our children to integrate two of their favorite activities - exploring the outdoors and engaging in theatrical arts. During this program, children will have the chance to visit The Farm and use that experience as inspiration to design puppets for a puppet show. Additionally, they will have the opportunity to partake in various hikes around the natural surroundings of The Links, along with other activities that allow them ample time to create their own unique puppets. At the end of the week, the children will delight their families with a special puppet show performance.

Week 6: Science

Week 6: Science

8.5-8.9

The purpose of Science Week is to foster an inquisitive mindset towards comprehending various phenomena in our earthly surroundings. Science Week aims to involve, examine, and enthuse our senses. Each day will be dedicated to a specific field of study, including chemistry, physics, biology, computer science, and earth science. Activities include a medicinal plant excursion, creating slime, coding, conducting the "elephant toothpaste" experiment, and numerous other engaging experiences.

The Kids Club runs Monday through Friday, 9am-2pm. Tuition is $575/week.

Lodging

For out-of-town families who would like to attend The Sea Ranch Kids Club at The Links, we recommend booking accommodations through Sea Ranch Living. The Lodge’s private vacation homes are the perfect setting for a summer getaway. Families who book through Sea Ranch Living will be offered 10% off of lodging.
