When Richard was 15 he was given a guitar by his uncle. He has not put it down since. Discovering the joy of singing and that he had a remarkable voice, Richard began to put the two together and without much exception he still plays and sings daily. Now at 81, he plays a wide variety of musical genres and has never lost the love for singing and playing. Only one thing is required in his selection of songs to play for an audience- he plays songs he loves, and sings songs he can show that audience the emotion he is filled with while singing and playing guitars he made himself.

Music has always been central to harpist Ted Berman’s life. A lifelong multi-instrumentalist, he spent many years developing a strong foundation as a blues guitarist before a serendipitous encounter with the harp in the summer of 2023 changed his musical direction. Drawing on his guitar background, Ted brings blues phrasing, rhythm, and feel to the Celtic harp, bringing techniques rarely associated with the instrument. The result is a distinctive style that bridges traditions while expanding the expressive possibilities of the harp.
