Spring Meadow

Located on the brow of a forested hill, Spring Meadow commands sweeping 180-degree views of the surrounding meadows and Pacific Ocean. Commissioned in the late 1990s by a friend and admirer of Charles Moore, the home was designed by Buzz Yudell of Moore Ruble Yudell to reflect the architectural principles and site sensitivity of The Sea Ranch’s most iconic buildings. A gravel entry court frames a Japanese maple and offers the first glimpse of the home’s thoughtful connection to nature. The design unfolds through a series of intimate and expansive reveals, creating a sense of discovery throughout. The home features two distinct volumes: a single-story living space with kitchen, dining, living areas, and primary suite, and a detached two-story tower with a study and guest accommodations. A generous covered porch and breezeway connect the spaces while extending the living areas outdoors. Floor-to-ceiling windows, a central fireplace, and an open kitchen create a warm gathering space filled with natural light. Quiet reading nooks, a built-in desk, and secluded garden court invite moments of reflection and retreat.
